All this hype about CMSes and blogs and podcasting and so on made me feel quite left out. I mean, I’ve been using the Intarweb since about 1993, but never really had a permanent presence…

Sure, I had my own websites (and quite a number of them at that!) on all the free web hosts since the days of yore. The amount of spam I received on my geocities.com forward address before I simply trashed it was incredible! Even now, my yahoo.com address dating back to at least 1998 is simply useless for any regular use.

But the whole notion of having to do regular updates (be it for a livejournal or blog site) simply didn’t work out for me. I have this serious memory problem, and while these things initially cause the “ooh, pretty lights!” reaction, I tire and forget of them.

So now I’m dabbling not with the Cuban dance form, but the content management system. Why will this be different? I dunno. It probably won’t be. This is all for my own edification anyway, I’m guessing nobody else out there could give a flying rat’s fart about my inane ramblings :)

Update: I’m even trying out WordPress now — Mambo seems to be overkill, and besides, I’m a sucker for the eye candy WordPress offers ;)
